A: 現在、対応しているNAS4Freeのインストール方法は、LiveCD/LiveUSBを経由した起動とインストールのみです。 NAS4Free Download Optionsを読み、ダウンロードし使用したいバージョンについて良く理解して下さい。

LiveCD( .ISO )/LiveUSB( .IMG)で次の事が出来ます：

フルプラットフォームのインストールと更新
組み込みプラットフォームのインストールと更新
LiveCD/LiveUSBプラットフォームとしてNAS4Freeを実行

LiveCD.isoはブータブルCDの作成に使われます。このCDは設定をフロッピーかフラッシュメディアに保存することにより、NAS4Freeの稼動に使うことが出来ます。

LiveUSB.imgファイルは、*nixではdd、Windowsでは似たようなユーティリティを用いて直接フラッシュメディアに書き込みます。一度これを行えば、このフラッシュメディアからNAS4Freeを実行したり、他のNAS4Freeプラットフォームの他のメディアへのインストールに使うことが出来ます。

Embedded.imgファイルはEmbeddedプラットフォームのアップグレード専用で、他の如何なる用途での使用は推奨しません。
CFカード/USBフラッシュドライブ、またはハードドライブに、そのイメージを書き込むことが出来ます。 You should only attempt to do this if you are accustomed to manipulating disk images.
Embedded.imgファイルは圧縮されており、意図した The Embedded.img file is for Embedded platform Upgrades only, we don't recommend you use this for anything else.
It is possible to write the image to a CF card/USB Flash Drive or hard drive. You should only attempt to do this if you are accustomed to manipulating disk images.
The Embedded.img file is compressed, if you are using it as intended, for Embedded platform upgrade, it does not need to be decompressed.

NOT SUPPORTED!
If you are going to try to write this directly to disk, you may have to decompress it depending on the method you plan to use.
If you are a Windows user you should be familiar with physdiskwrite-0_5_2-physgui-eng.zip or another similar Windows based tool. On Vista and higher make sure you run it as administrator. When you plug the USB key or CF into your PC format the device as FAT first, before you write the .img. If you are a *nix user you can use dd to write the image.

If you do not have a CD drive or your hardware does not support a CD drive try the LiveUSB. If you do not have USB ports or your PC will not boot from USB, then you may have to make your own compilation or figure out an innovative, new way to install the system. Here are some alternatives:

Install on different computer. NOTE - This may be the easiest solution. Unlike Windows or other OS's, NAS4Free is mostly hardware independent. A fresh, unconfigured, installation made on a compatible computer can often be moved to another compatible computer without problems. Many times you can install NAS4Free, Embedded or Full to a hard drive or USB device on almost any computer with a CD/DVD and then move the device to the intended server without a CD/DVD and it will boot just fine.
